Job description

Our reputed client a Semi Government Oil and Gas Company is looking forward to recruit for the position of "Electronics Technician” in Abu Dhabi; UAE.

Job Purpose:

Responsible for carrying out installation, repair and maintenance of communication,

navigation & entertainment systems installed on board vessels.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Carry out installation, repair, maintenance and functional test of marine radio communication equipment, satellite & marine V-Sat communication equipment & systems.

  • Perform installation, repair and maintenance activities for modern navigation equipment.

  • Install, repair and conduct maintenance works for various entertainment equipment & internal communication system.

  • Operate the pipe Client tensioners as per the operating manual instruction and system limits.

  • Carry out preventive maintenance, troubleshooting & repairs of different types of tensioner & control systems as per established maintenance procedures to ensure safe, continuous & efficient operation.

  • Compliance in accordance with section/Company policies & procedures, Policy of Integrity & Code of Conduct and HSE standards.

Operating Environment:

  • The role entails working in a noisy environment with irregular working hours under extreme conditions of temperature.

Communications and working Relationships:

  • Work is performed under the general direction of a supervisor.

  • Liaise with colleagues on the vessel and Head of Plant Electronics/Engineers at base.

  • The job holder must be able to work alone or in groups.

Framework, Boundaries, Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:

  • Work within a well-structured environment with clear reporting lines and defined accountabilities.

  • Guided by Company polices & procedures, Integrity Policy & Code of Conduct and HSE standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Technical Diploma in Electronics Engineering and undergone Electronics trade training.

  • 5 years' experience in offshore pipe Client barges / ships mainly on SAS, Westech HMD, REMACUT tensioners and pipe Client equipment.

  • Good written / spoken English communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of computer software required for operation and maintenance of the tensioner system.

  • Knowledge in hydraulic/ pneumatic systems and drawings is preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals.

  • Proven supervisory skills.
