Job description

SUMMARY
Maintains proper inventory accounting of the product and manages all documentation for product in yards, product receipts and shipments to meet company policy and regulatory requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

¿ Execute inventory control measures to ensure the company minimizes stock holding and maximizes stock system and paperwork accuracy.
¿ The role carries responsibility for working with purchasing, material inwards and dispatch to ensure necessary functions are carried out correctly
¿ Develop the company¿s inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs within budgetary limits, generating savings, rationalising inventory and maximizing available working capital
¿ Manage and maintain the company¿s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations
¿ Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks
¿ Minimise overstocks and removal of obsolete / redundant materials to maximize availability of working capital
¿ Ensure that inventory control department is well organised and controlled to sufficiently support the goals of the business.
¿ Ensure incoming product is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedure.
¿ Provide routine management information on inventory performance

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
¿ Preparing Sales returns and verifying the reason for the return
¿ Making sure that the material that is returned is physically received in the yard before passing an adjustment

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT
¿ Bachelor¿s Degree or any higher degree/diploma
¿ Must have 3-5 years experience in similar role ¿ preferably from steel industry
¿ Proficient in MS office especially in Excel
¿ Has a detailed understanding of inventory control / management systems and ERP
¿ Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to details.
¿ Possess excellent personal organisation and business administration skills in accordance with modern best practice methods.
¿ Self motivated and able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision and direction.
¿ Effective communication skills, including presentation and report writing skills.
¿ Continuous improvement is the key to this role.
