Job description

We have a job opening with our client for the position of System Engineer:

Location: Das Island

¿ Develop Definition of Requirement (DOR) and statement of requirements (SOR) for major DCS modification or process control projects. As a member of project team performs all assigned process control activities.
¿ Perform tender technical evaluation for process control and optimisation projects.
¿ Knowledge and understanding of Advanced process control (APC) and Data reconciliation & validation (DRV) and Operator training Simulator (OTS)
¿ Knowledge and understanding of Boilers, compressors, and fractionation unit operations and controls.
¿ Knowledge and understanding of Acid gas recovery Benfield process and Sulphur recovery clause process unit operation and controls.
¿ Knowledge and understanding of Honeywell TPS and Experian PKS would be advantageous.
¿ Knowledge and understanding of LNG and OAG process plant operation.
¿ Knowledge and understanding of Emergency shutdown Systems (ESD), Fire & Gas Systems (F&GS), and Analyzers.
¿ Knowledge and understanding of CCC anti-surge and Bently Nevada vibration monitoring.
¿ Knowledge and understanding of Electrical Networks (11KV & 33KV) and Steam & Gas turbine unit operations and controls.
¿ Knowledge and understanding of field instrumentation; process control measuring elements & signal transmission and control elements.
¿ Knowledge and understanding of control loop tuning and performance evaluation packages and control tuning techniques.
¿ Knowledge and understanding of interface protocols, TCP/IP, OPC and Networks.
¿ Provide liaison with contractors during project Engineering, installation and commissioning.
¿ Develop procedures for implementation of DCS system Hardware/software release upgrades or any other system changes.
¿ Perform modification to DCS database, Plant schematics, CL programs and logic as required for both Honeywell TPS and Experian PKS
¿ Provide support and troubleshooting for any process control related operational problems and for other packages such as Honeywell Historian PHD, Alarm Management System (AMS) Simulation and advanced controls.
¿ Carry out system software reviews, tests and validation in accordance with the plant operating procedures and plant instrumentation / control data for both the DCS and advanced control packages.
¿ Provide technical support to the Operations Divisions by producing DCS functional description guidelines for efficient and reliable plant operation and in accordance with safety standards at the design stage.
¿ Act as DCS system reference/information source to other Divisions and provide operations and plant maintenance divisions with the system technical support.
¿ Review and maintain up-to-date records, files and documentation utilizing commercial packages for information, data compilation and presentation.
¿ Review and implement system modifications and changes initiated by Integrity & Quality, operations or maintenance division.
¿ Carries out other related or similar duties as assigned such as assisting in training development of system engineers (Developees).

Minimum Requirements:
¿ B.Sc in a relevant (Chemical/Automation/Instruments) engineering discipline, preferably Chartered status.
¿ Minimum of 4 years works experience in Control Projects. Knowledge of Honeywell TPS, Experian PKS PHD, and multi-variable control (APC) and Dynamic and steady state simulation packages and Data reconciliation & validation (DRV) packages would be advantageous.
¿ Experience and knowledge of process control & optimisation and field instrumentation and Emergency shutdown systems (ESD), Fire & Gas (F&G) and analyzers would be an advantage.
¿ Work experience of LNG plant would be advantageous.
¿ Knowledge of Windows Server, networking (TCP/IP and OPC) environment and familiarity with commercial packages
¿ Good written and spoken English

Remuneration Package:
¿ Salary negotiable, with comprehensive benefits package.
¿ Leave cycle 35/28 (i.e. 35 days on Das Island followed by 28 days off).
¿ Messing and accommodation are provided free of charge while on the Island.
