Our client, a company undertaking oil and gas projects is looking forward to recruit Principal Engineer - Process Safety

Job Description
¿ Lead process hazard analyses and revalidations for EPC / FEED Projects.
¿ Use tools for evaluation of qualitative and quantitative analysis for process safety.
¿ Provide project input concerning process and personnel safety requirements included in generally accepted engineering standards such as NFPA, ASME, API, and CGA, reducing the business¿ need to hire third parties.
¿ Partner with multi discipline engineering team to provide Process Safety support and align Design procedures / processes to manage and mitigate hazards.

Technical Skill Sets
¿ Identification, assessment and management of HSE risks through the application of the Hazards and Effects Management Process (HEMP) including QRA, HAZOP, HAZID, HAZEER, Risk Assessment, Bow Tie, etc. This will involve chairing the workshops.
¿ Shall be the focal point for Safety Engineering and Technical HSE issues, assuring that risk levels are kept within the risk tolerability criteria adopted by client.
¿ Experienced in the design and operations of Oil & Gas production and processing facilities in both on shore and offshore.
¿ Experienced in Process safety studies for Oil & Gas process plants emergency relief systems, including relief case calculations and review of the existing ESD systems. Performing Process Engineering design and De pressuring (Flare & Blow down) Verification.
¿ Preparation of Process Safety Design philosophy and inputs to Process Safety Design Basis.
¿ Preparation of HSE Philosophy, Safety Concept & HSE Plan. Carrying out P&ID review, Plot Plan review and Hazardous Area classification review for EPC / FEED Projects.
¿ Review Human Factors and Process Safety requirements in functional Design Specification.
¿ Hazardous area classification philosophy, schedule and drawings as per API & IP Part 15 requirements.
¿ Facilitating workshops (HAZID/HAZOP/SIL/ALARP), Conducting safety studies related to offshore, onshore and pipeline facilities.
¿ Preparation of HAZID & ENVID Reports, HAZOP Reports, SIL Reports, Hazardous material schedule and Passive Fire Protection Reports.
¿ Consequence modeling of gas dispersion, fire and explosion using software like Shell-FRED, BP-CIRRUS & PHAST is desirable.
¿ Preparing design deliverables for example: Hazardous Area drawings, Fire zone drawings, Escape Route drawings, Safety P&ID¿s and PFD¿s, etc.
¿ Design of Active and Passive fire protection systems, Firewater P&ID¿s, Foam/Water deluge spray systems, as per NFPA, API and industry standards like Shell DEP¿s, BP GP¿s and Total specifications.
¿ Perform concept and detailed design of the Firewater systems. Perform Fire main network hydraulics, Fire and Gas Layout, Fire and Safety Equipment layout and Fire water demand calculation.
¿ Design of fire & gas detection and alarm systems, F&G cause & effect matrix, and ESD logic diagrams.
¿ Preparation of specifications, data sheets and material requisitions for packages, fire protection & safety equipment, and mechanical equipment like fire water pumps, deluge systems, foam systems etc.

Management Skill Sets:
¿ Deep Knowledge of project development: preliminary engineering to detail designs to construction and the final safe turnover to proponent.
¿ Experience in development of material requisitions and technical evaluation of received proposals.
¿ Attending Coordination meetings with client, vendors and subcontractors.
¿ Time (hours) estimation for project development (engineering).
¿ Manage contractor preparation of detailed design, material specifications and procurement, and/or construction bid packages.
¿ Communicating with all levels of management.

Qualifications:
¿ Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering.
¿ Affiliation to professional bodies in the field of specialization.
¿ More than 15 years experience with Consulting / EPC Firms in Process Safety of which at least 10 years must be in Oil & Gas sector
