Job description

This vacancy is with our government client, undertaking projects in oil & gas sector.

Scope of Duties

The Successful candidate must be experienced in directing, coordinating and controlling the activities assigned to contractors¿ personnel to ensure all Civil Maintenance works required for the LNG Trains and associated facilities are performed safely according to prescribed standards of quality and at the most economic cost.

a) Directs, co-ordinates and monitors the activities of assigned Civil Maintenance Contractor. Performs Quality Assurance/Control to a stand¬ard established by ACGAS:
b) Co-ordinates the daily running of civil maintenance repair works through the Civil Maintenance Contract Supervisor. Includes planning and sche¬duling routine work, responding to emergency work, obtaining permits for vehicle, entry, excavation, hot-work, man-entry, obtaining materials, approves Material Requisitions etc.
c) Ensures the standard and quality of work executed by Civil Services Contractor including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, housekeeping, concre¬ting, excavation and refractory work etc. To ensure that Contractor performs such work at minimum cost and that substandard/rejected work¬manship is not costed to company Account.
d) Submits written reports (daily, monthly and at end of contract) on quality of contractors services to ensure correct allocation of labour/materials costs (whether to company account or back charged to Contractor in the case of substandard work). End of contract report will be used when contract renewal is being considered. Quality of workmanship, Safety performance and productivity will all feature in these reports.
e) Prepares a daily report on Term Maintenance Contractor listing the jobs in progress and the category and number of worker allocated to each job, so that compliance with Term Maintenance Contract can be verified.
f) Participates in the development of Contracts, specifically compilation of bills of materials and tender documents.
g) Provides opportunities for training and development of employees under his direction (with emphasis on UAE Nationals). This includes on-the-job training, counseling and proper work delegation. Assesses trainees progress by preparing written assessment reports.

h) Participates in updating procedures for all practical aspects of civil engineering work for the LNG Plant, such as concrete mixing, refractory linings, form work, etc.
i) Organise and directs the safe and efficient maintenance of Civil Maintenance Mobile Plant and equipment in accordance with the agreed maintenance-and safety procedures. Prepare written reports on the condition of the plant and equipment.
j) Performs other related or similar duties, such as compiling Contr¬actors time sheets, stores stock requisitions, accident reports, serious disciplinary action reports, special technical reports, etc. all as directed by the General Maintenance Services Team Leader and General Civil Services Engineer. In line with ISRS requirements and Management directives, undertakes Planned General Inspection and conducts "Tool Box" meetings. Initiates and monitors follow-up actions arising from both.

Minimum Requirements

a) Completion of Secondary Technical Education (12 years) or equivalent.

b) 8 years experience in Civil Maintenance and repair work in the oil refining or petrochemical industry including at least 3 years supervisory experience.

c) Good spoken English. Ability to write technical reports with minimum guidance.

Work Location: Offshore, Abu Dhabi
Rotation Cycle: 35 days work and 28 days off.
