Job Title:- Asset Integrity Engineer
Job Location:- Ruwais

Requirement:-
  • Minimum 5 years experience in process safety with a strong affinity to safe operation and asset integrity assurance/management.
  • Candidate discipline: Chemical / Process Engineering withat least 5 years in Asset Integrity/Process Safety / Inspection with a strong affinity to safe operation and asset management. Output needs to be recognized by the whole organization especially operations and maintenance.
  • Good communication skills required with Operation, Maintenance

PURPOSE

The Process Safety Engineer will advise and facilitate the effective implementation of Asset Integrity Policy, AIRMS Framework, Process safety Management Standard and related procedures to ensure overall long term Process Safety and Integrity. There will be an emphasis on Technical, Operational and Design Integrity. The incumbent will also plan to raise the awareness of Process Safety and Asset Integrity within the plant for all personnel (direct hire and contractors).

BACKGROUND:

The Process Safety Engineer directly reports to the Integrity Assurance Section Head. He also has an indirect reporting relationship with the Integrity Assurance Department (OEA) in the Operations Excellence Division (OE). He ensures alignment of Process Safety Initiatives and reporting the Sites process safety performance.

MAIN CHALLENGES

  • To advise and propose strategies to further improve process safety in order to ensure safe, efficient and reliable performance and make decisions to address problem areas and overall plant optimization.
  • To participate in developing and maintaining standards related to Process Safety and ensure that existing procedures are updated and they comply with the HSE-MS & Practices requirements or standards.
  • To initiate and monitor various process safety initiatives like operation envelopes, Alarm management, shift handover, shift meetings etc.
  • To ensure adherence of planned process safety and risk assessment studies and to chair the Hazop sessions as and when required.
  • To carry out or participate in process safety and risk assessments, hazard identification/evaluation studies, hazard operability studies and analysis, and advise business teams on safety risks identified. To follow up and ensure close out of all recommendations emanating from various process safety studies.
  • To establish, implement and follow up the Process safety metrics, Leading and lagging performance indicators that will indicate the process safety performance and to facilitate the management level decision processes and also achieve shareholders KPIs.
  • To audit various sections/departments in the facility as a Level-1 Audit for process safety and operational Integrity.
  • To track, manage and ensure close out of the GRIATS relevant to process safety and monitor and follow up that deviations and non-conformities are identified and justified, corrected, and subsequently closed out.
  • To verify process safety documentation availability as per company and regulatory procedures and process safety standards requirements.
  • To conduct process safety & chemical engineering related reviews. To ensure all Safety Basis assessments are in compliance with the appropriate standards and policies.
  • To ensure that all incidents related to process safety are investigated to prevent recurrence and provide learning from previous incidents, and contribute to a good process safety culture in the organization.
  • To review the major accident hazards through the COMAH or HSE case studies and ensure the safety critical elements are rightly identified and are reported.
  • To create and maintain a culture of zero accidents and incidents relating to process safety.
  • To be the site focal point for Process Safety & to aid the organisation to ensure that all identified risks are mitigated to ALARP, and that risk controls remain effective.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Advise the Division Management on Process Safety Incidents and Integrity Near misses (particularly, all forms of Loss of Containment and significant causes of equipment to fail to danger), categorizing root causes, providing advise on solutions and publicizing lessons learnt. Assess and distribute Integrity alerts that will assist the site, and also generate them for learning when appropriate to share.
  • Provide input to identifying Key Performance Indicators. Monitor and report Process Safety KPIs, on critical systems and equipment, including integrity management systems. Provide guidance, retain appropriate compliance records and document any non-compliance with executed corrective actions. Verify and report on the quarterly Integrity KPI report to both Plant Division and Integrity Division Management.
  • Assist the plant in operating & managing the asset to meet the design envelope and ensure there is proper deviation control
  • Advise and support Process Safety training / awareness within the plant for direct hire as well as contractors. Help in development, implementation and audit of necessary integrity competence requirements for maintenance, inspection and verification activities.
  • Share Process Safety learning with other IA Site Advisors and colleagues including information on Integrity Assurance issues, concerns and best practices.
  • To facilitate and follow up the implementation of HSECES Management System and Process Safety Management standards.
