Job description
Our client, a leading oil and gas company based in Abu Dhabi is looking forward to recruit FabricatorPurpose and Scope
Pipe fabricators must be fully competent and experienced men with previous oil fields experience and are conversant with pipe & structural fabrication requirements for high pressure piping capable of working upto schedule 160, Also must have qualifications similar to those required for foreman, however, less relevant experience will be required
Work Performed
¿ Receives work assignments from the foreman and works either alone or as member of a small team and with the assistance of welders/laborers/scaffolders as required
¿ Assist foreman in deciding the scaffolding requirements for carrying out the installation/removal of pipe works, valves and connected equipment
¿ Should be familiar with engineering drawings (P&ID and isometric drawing)
¿ Families with pipe schedules and material, valve types and class, fitting schedule and types. Material certification, withdrawal of materials from stores and return of surplus materials after completion of work
¿ Assess foremen in preparing as built information on the scope of work drawings after completion of work
¿ Should be familiar and have work experience in isolation of pipe line/de-isolation of live lines (spading/de-spading, valve isolation, double & single isolation), installing and alignment of valve and flange
¿ Can be work in scaffolding, overboard scaffolding, confined space and habitat with taken all safety and precautions according to the risk assessment and PTW (Permit to work)
¿ Installs new pipes (1.0¿ and above), renews/replaces damaged pipes, cold-cuts, unscrews, threads, opens-up and closes flanges, installs and removes spades, fits blind flanges, gratings, working when necessary with a welder, pipe fitter, rigger etc
¿ Preparation and execution of hydro testing/pneumatic testing of pipe work and connected equipment
¿ When required, isolates tanks, removes spades, prepares tanks for sludge cleaning and re-commissioning after cleaning
¿ Attends group safety meeting and advises his supervisor about any defects of safety equipment to take the necessary remedial action. Ensures good housekeeping of the work area and ensures that tools and equipment are properly used and stored
Work Relations
Has routine contact with personnel of the section, of operating branches and other contractors
Latitude
Reports to supervisor/foreman when assigned to work with one, works according to standard procedures and following instructions. Has a certain amount of latitude in deciding how to perform each task, work is supervised and checked closely by supervisor or foreman
Supervision
Gives work directions to helpers, welders and laborer when they are assigned to work with him
Minimum Requirements
¿ Completion of secondary education followed by 3 years of formal training in fabrication trades
¿ 5 years of practical experience in fabricating high pressure piping up to schedule 160 pipe work and steel work particularly in offshore oil installations
¿ Good knowledge of spoken and written English language
¿ Basic safety courses such as fire fighting, survival, H2S and first aid
