Job description
Our client, a leading oil and gas company based in Abu Dhabi is looking forward to recruit Mechanical ForemanPurpose & Scope
Supervises, directs and controls all mechanical activities of assigned subordinates on the site, carrying out maintenance, repairs, fabrication, installations, hydro testing of piping, valves, vessels, structure etc, as required on offshore platforms (day or night shift)
Work Performed
¿ Directs and supervises the workmen assigned to him for the overhauling of static equipments, valves, pipe work and repair activities on offshore barges or super complex during the shutdown, including receiving job cards and discussing/consulting with supervisor to set priorities, allocating work to subordinates, arranging and obtaining work permits and materials/spares as required and checking/inspecting completed work
¿ Plan the sequence of jobs (preparation, lifting, installation, welding etc) according to the job requirement and available facilities
¿ Should be familiar with engineering drawings (P&ID and isometric drawing) and preparing as built drawings after completion of work
¿ Families with pipe schedules and material, valve types and class, fitting schedule and types
¿ Should be familiar and have work experience in isolation of pipe line/de-isolation of live lines (spading/de-spading, valve isolation, double & single isolation), installing and alignment of valve and flange
¿ Should be familiar and have work experience in prepares pipe lines and vessels for shut down or re-commissioning (cleaning, flushing and air/N2 purging)
¿ Can be work in scaffolding, overboard scaffolding, confined space and habitat with taken all safety and precautions according to the risk assessment and PTW (permit to work)
¿ Should be familiar and have work experience in overhauling of Static equipments like pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, valves removal/replacement of piping and Rigging works in order to guide his subordinates
¿ Attends to emergency jobs, supervises spading/de-spading of live lines, checks site safety requirements i.e., scaffolding, BA equipment etc and personally carries out or guides his subordinates
¿ Prepares stores requisition, obtains approval and arrange for collection
¿ Receives planned maintenance schedule and job cards from supervisors and arrange for implementation in liaison with operations
¿ Controls the barge/super complex store with first line spares and materials. Ensures that tools are well maintained and kept in safe working condition
¿ Obtains safety equipment for personnel, arrange for stand-by services as required and ensures compliance with company safety regulations
¿ Works in accordance with established company procedures, professional standards and HSE requirement. Directing the work of the section by determining work methods from several existing alternatives
¿ Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor such as: Identifying training needs for subordinates, preparing necessary reports, supervising maintenance of necessary records etc
¿ Train and assist new joined Fabricator/Welder
¿ Ensures good housekeeping of the work area and ensures that tools and equipment are properly used and stored
¿ Performing general inspection survey for new offshore working area to request the required material and time
Work relations and Latitude
¿ Regular contacts with personnel up to supervisor level
¿ Occasional contacts with stores to follow up materials requisition
¿ Works according to established procedures, policy and approved programmers. Has latitude in allocating work, deciding minor priorities
¿ Completed work is spot-checked by Supervisor
Minimum Requirements
¿ Completion of technical secondary education certificate followed by three formal training leading to a diploma in mechanical trades
¿ Minimum of 10 years work experience in oil and gas static equipment maintenance works with a minimum of 5 years experience in offshore oil installations, mainly in general maintenance of static equipment and pipe work and structure fabrication. Trained in the use of modern inspection methods, standards and practices (inspection and supervision techniques)
¿ Thorough knowledge of offshore safety procedures and related practices
¿ Good knowledge of spoken and written English Language
¿ Reporting skill, fair computer skill, leading and supervision skill
