Job description
This vacancy is with our client,leading Petrochemical Company undertaking projects in oil & gase sector.Basic Function:
Plans and supervises Electrical equipment maintenance activities in the plant. Participates in relation with Planning Section in the development of preventive maintenance schedules, planning for major shutdowns and supervision of the work of approved contractors. Reviews the performance of all Electrical equipment and associated facilities, supervises and participates in studies to improve the performance of systems. Participates in drawing-up annual budget for Electrical maintenance activities, presents a variety of technical reports and coordinates materials procurement planning activities for the section. As the most senior specialist for Electrical equipment and systems at the plant, acts as the focal point for all maintenance matters in this field.
Also responsible for operation of power distribution systems, including two emergency generators driven by steam turbine and diesel engine and uninterrupted power systems.
Work Performed:
¿ Plans and supervises the activities of assigned personnel in the Electrical Section. Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority at the level established by management for the position.
¿ Participates, in conjunction with the Planning Section, in the preparing of preventive maintenance schedules for all routine maintenance work. Prepares resource plans for such work, which include details of frequency and specific work requirements, labour, materials, spare parts and requirements for external services. Follows-up on maintenance activities by providing advice and instructions signing work orders for execution and recommending work methods and diagnosis of faults in equipment.
¿ Receives work requests from other departments and the Plant Availability section, discusses work requirements with the concerned parties and subordinate electrical engineers, determine work priorities and arranges resources for completion of the work.
¿ Receives completed maintenance or repair work orders, to enable payment to be made to the maintenance contractor. Reviews time sheets and overtime reports for contractor and company personnel, ensures that work related information including work orders, overtime and normal work hours, materials and spare parts used are passed to the Planning Section for insertion into the computerized Maintenance Management System. Reviews the output of such data and suggest improvements in collection, analysis and presentation of information.
¿ Coordinates major plant shutdowns in conjunction with the Planning Section. Includes discussing and determining shutdown work requirements, reviewing critical path networks, preparing procurement plans for spare parts, material and specialized test equipment. Follows-up during shutdowns by supervising subordinate and contractor work crews, arranging necessary permits to work and other relate services. Ensures that all equipment is correctly tested before re-commissioning.
¿ Supervises all activities related to Automatic Fire Protection & Alarm System and associated peripherals. This includes reviewing and discussing various requirements as per standards and modifications and required. Follows up on the maintenance and problems of equipment and where necessary, dispatch components to the manufacturer¿s local representative for repair or replacement.
¿ Prepares and submits various reports to the Plant Availability Department Manager for internal discussion within the Department and submission to the Plant Operations Division Manager. Prepares statistical information and work related summaries indicating maintenance, repair and major shutdown activities, attends regular departmental and plant meetings to discuss activities and coordinates inter-section activities.
¿ Initiates and endorses requirements for the issue of materials and spare parts from the warehouse and for direct purchase items not normally carried out in stock. Carries out or supervises the technical receipt and inspection of materials orders, to ensure conformity to order and/or requirements. Signs for technical acceptance of materials as necessary.
¿ Reviews periodically the spare part inventory and forwards recommendations to Plant Availability Department Manager for addition/deletion of items, for optimization without affecting the performance o the plant.
Work Contacts:
Frequent contact with senior personnel in Plant Availability Department and Operation Departments to coordinate work, provides technical advice and discusses Electrical problems. Occasional contacts with contractors and manufacturers¿ representatives for negotiation and/or development of new proposals. Frequent contacts with procurement and materials personnel in Abu Dhabi and at the plant to coordinate materials activities.
Independence of Operation:
Reports to Plant Availability Department Manager. Carries out assignments within the frame work of operational (production) objectives, professional engineering standards and established policy. Exercises judgment and professional expertise in carrying out analysis and in providing solutions to major problems in the plant. Determines maintenance or repair priorities in discussion with Plant Availability Planning/Mechanical Team Leader and/or in discussion with the Plant Availability Department Manager. Work accomplishment are subject to general review.

Minimum Requirements:
¿ Bachelor of Engineering with specialization in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
¿ 12 years¿ minimum engineering experience in the operations testing, installation and maintenance of electrical generation and distribution equipment, within a fertilizer or chemical plant, including at least 8 years in a supervisory position.
¿ Very good knowledge in English
