Our client, a leading oil and gas company based in Abu Dhabi is looking forward to recruit Special Advisor to the Advisory Committee ¿ Upstream

BASIC FUNCTION
The Special Advisor to the Advisory Committee ¿ Upstream, provides upstream oil and gas support to the Advisory Committee in areas related to its mandate.
At the request of the Advisory Committee, the Special Advisor reviews upstream oil and gas aspects of submissions made to the Advisory Committee in areas related to its mandate for its recommendation. The Special Advisor provides upstream input on any other upstream-related subject that the assigns to the Advisory Committee for study, and for which the Advisory Committee requests the support of the Special Advisor. In addition, the Special Advisor performs studies on upstream oil and gas issues if requested by the Advisory Committee, and provides briefings and recommendations to the Advisory Committee and its members.
The Special Advisor is required to have broad and extensive knowledge of technical, commercial, strategic, and regulatory issues in upstream oil and gas, with significant experience gained from working in senior level assignments, preferably with recent experience working in conjunction with National Oil Companies in the GCC.
Whilst reporting administratively within the General Secretariat, the Special Advisor reports functionally to the Advisory Committee with this reporting coordinated through the Advisory Committee Chairman.

WORK PERFORMED
a) Reviews submissions made to the Advisory Committee in areas related to its mandate; As requested and directed by the Advisory Committee, performs an independent review of the upstream oil & gas aspects of submissions made to the Advisory Committee for recommendation. Provides the Advisory Committee with upstream perspectives and analysis to support the Advisory Committee in its deliberations.
b) Provides upstream input on any other subjects that the assigns to the Advisory Committee for study; As requested and directed by the Advisory Committee, provides upstream input to the study of any subject that the assigns to the Advisory Committee requesting its view and recommendation.
c) Prepares or co-ordinates briefings as requested by the Advisory Committee on upstream issues; Supports the Advisory Committee in preparing or coordinating the preparation of briefings on national, regional and global upstream issues of general interest to the Committee, as requested.
d) Maintains an overview of key technical, commercial, strategic and regulatory developments in upstream oil and gas; Builds on existing knowledge, experience and relationships to identify upstream issues and developments ¿ both regionally and globally ¿ of potential relevance to the oil and gas sector in Abu Dhabi.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
¿ Post graduate or PhD degree in Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
¿ At least 20 years¿ experience in the upstream oil & gas sector with experience gained in a broad range of technical, commercial and strategic assignments with a major International Oil Company or National Oil Company in various operating environments, with experience of working with a GCC National Oil Company preferred.
¿ Strong expertise and knowledge in global upstream oil and gas issues and developments, and experience in identifying, proposing and managing strategy studies.
¿ Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex studies with clear and concise analysis and recommendations.
¿ Experience in managing complex issues with various stakeholders and a proven ability to build consensus and develop practical solutions.
¿ Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic
