Job description
The above position is for our client, a government Oil & Gas Company.PURPOSE
To develop and conduct operational / technical on the job training activities (in line with the employees personal development plans) in order to improve the competence and effectiveness of all of the organizations human resources and support the achievement of Emiratization target.
BACKGROUND
The Job Instructor (Operations/ Technical) reports to the Training and Development Section Head.
The Job Instructor provides OJT training for junior and senior UAE National developees and new employees.
An ambitious target of achieving Nationalization has been set by the company and this can only be accomplished by developing the operational and technical competencies of UAE National Developees for positions where they can replace experienced expatriate staff in a relatively short time.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
¿ To participate in the development of annual training plan by assisting line personnel review, analyze and evaluate proposed training courses to ensure the courses support the organizational operational / technical training objectives and requirements.
¿ To support the implementation of plans in ASAB as per set timelines and quality standards in order to achieve the required skill levels in the technical functions.
¿ To review the technical requirements and procedures of Mechanical, Instrument and Electrical functions and develop On the Job Training (OJT) programs to ensure effective skill development of UAE national trainees.
¿ To prepare relevant training schedules based on the actual needs of the operational requirements and personal development plans to fulfill organizational objectives by effective employee development.
¿ To manage and update OJT information, arrange the learning resources or documents such as training material, Operation Manuals, technical drawings, operation / technical procedures etc. that are required by the trainees in order to ensure successful execution of training programs.
¿ To provide individual OJT to the operators, technicians and engineering trainees in the field, when required, or as requested by the OJT mentor in order to overcome any noted problem areas
¿ To provide refresher training to established operations personnel or technicians, when requested by Section Heads or Shift Controllers, in order to increase their performance.
¿ To ensure all OJT activities conducted are in compliance with current operational requirements and HSE policies and procedures
¿ To plan for plant visits based on trainee availability, training requirements and availability of other resources, conduct OJT during site visits and issue OJT report on trainees performance for management decision making.
¿ To develop and administer theoretical and practical assessment tests for operators, technicians and engineering trainees to ensure their OJT activities achieve the desired training requirement
¿ To conduct counseling sessions with trainees and determine if they have problems with formal technical training or OJT training conducted by line personnel and develop follow up training activities to overcome the identified problem areas.
¿ To discuss and document the trainees¿ monthly schedule with the Section Head or Shift Controllers in order to ensure the job instructors and line training efforts are integrated and effective
¿ To document, maintain and update OJT information on and produce training status reports for line personnel, HC Division and management review.
¿ To comply with Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS)
Minimum Requirements
¿ Degree in Mechanical Engineer with minimum 10 years experience in Oil & Gas Industry.
¿ Experience in conducting OJT training.
¿ Good interpersonal skills.
¿ Must be computer literate.
¿ Very good standard of written and spoken English Language, Arabic is advantage
