Job description

This vacancy is with our client, Government Oil & Gas Company under the ADNOC group in Abu Dhabi

¿ The Operations Engineer provides troubleshooting, Plant optimization and Technical service support to the Plant for ensuring safe operation and consistent production, maintenance of technical safety standards and improvement of LNG plant efficiency and keeping in mind the product quality.
¿ Acts as a technical reference for Operations. Provides technical service/support to Operations Division on a regular basis.
¿ Carry out technical and energy audits of Process & Utility areas and suggesting means for improvement.
¿ Evaluation and interpretation of key operating data, towards monitoring plant performance. This includes identifying problems and offering technical solutions with firm recommendations for efficient, reliable and safe operation of plants. Needs a close interaction with core operating personnel.
¿ Capable of carrying out process simulation to analyze complex process Plant operations and offering solutions.
¿ Capable of reviewing initial requirement for new projects and reviewing process package, thus provides excellent supports to Project group team.
¿ Day to day support to Process and Utilities operations with emphasis on guidance/optimization for energy efficiency, flaring reduction and troubleshooting
¿ To act as team-leader of multi-discipline groups to investigate plant incidents and work practices with the objective to improve DAS Islands overall performance.
¿ Maintain proper documentation and reporting system for responsible area.
¿ Maintain technical integrity of utilities design to required technical standards and apply design strategy which aims for minimum life cycle cost.
¿ Maintain effective liaison with other departments/divisions like Engineering, Integrity and Reliability, Operations and Projects.
¿ Coach and develop staff to obtain required competencies. Identify when Technical Advisor support is required, i.e. for all developments outside company competency.
¿ Assist in design of plant modifications and de-bottlenecking and extension projects
¿ Be pro-active and creative in problem solving
¿ Have a well developed service attitude
¿ Capable of preparing technical papers and presentations for higher management as well as outside agencies.
¿ Be a good team player
¿ Be able to work independently and take ownership of the work assigned

Minimum Requirements:

¿ Graduate from Technical University, BS in chemical engineering.
¿ Possess a minimum of 8-10 years post graduation experience in Process Engineering or Operations Engineering 5 of which must have been in an Oil and gas industry. Preferably in LNG production.
¿ In order to be an effective leader of investigation teams a broad knowledge of work practices in other technical, engineering and operations departments is required.
¿ Skills in the field of safeguarding and engineering standards are essential for the development of technically sound plant modifications
¿ Have a high awareness of business and economic drivers
¿ Be fully competent in written and oral communication in the English language
¿ Incumbent must be a self starter, who possesses high level of motivation, enthusiasm and drive. Able to work independently and yet participate as a member of a team
¿ Good communication and interpersonal skills is also essential

Work Location: Offshore

¿ Leave cycle: 35 days `On¿ Das Island followed by 28 days `Off¿ to point of origin.
¿ Messing and accommodation are provided free of charge while on the island.
¿ Sports/recreational club facilities on the island
