Our client, a leading power plant based in Abu Dhabi is looking forward to recruit Senior Buyer

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the procurement and inventory manager, perform a variety of specialized duties involved Develop, negotiate, and administer contracts, agreements in addition to Supervising day to day of purchasing functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY
The duties and responsibilities of senior buyer include but are not limited to the following:
¿ Develop purchasing agreements and contracts.
¿ Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
¿ Supervise the daily activities of the purchasing team.
¿ Evaluate commercially the quotations received from the vendors.
¿ Oversees the purchasing operation from PR receipt until payment.
¿ Negotiated & coordinated with suppliers to obtained best value, performance delivery and payment terms.
¿ Handled timely placement of orders as per the agreed procurement/ production programmed.
¿ Research and market analysis, which includes major and new competitors, product ranges, prices and any relevant information for the company.
¿ Verify Invoice by reviewing approved time sheet, reports and certificates to ensure accurate cost of service.
¿ Prepare the purchasing monthly report to procurement & Inventory manager.
¿ Initiate to source-out alternatives for un-available materials being requested.
¿ Manage supplier evaluation and Source out prospective suppliers.
¿ Verifies the effectiveness of all corrective actions taken from the audit.
¿ Ensure timely delivery of materials through consistent communication and follow-up with the vendor and the buyers.
¿ Monitors the delivery of the item with the documents conforming to the regulatory requirements such as MSDS, product certificates, etc.
¿ Ensure all services or materials are ended well and satisfy the end user¿s requirements.
¿ Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
¿ Conduct internal training and provide assistance to buyers
¿ Maintain all files related to procurement department.
¿ Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
¿ Diploma¿s degree or its equivalent in any field closely related to the type of work being performed.
¿ At least 7 years of experience of purchasing or an equivalent combination of education and experience to provide sufficient evidence of the successful performance of the essential elements of the job such as those listed above.
¿ Minimum of 3 years experience in contract administration
¿ Familiar with contracts and spare parts of electro-mechanical
¿ Ability to communicate effectively with others.
¿ Good knowledge of written and spoken English and Arabic.
¿ Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office computer software such as spreadsheets, databases, word processing applications, email, Internet and MAXIMO system etc.
