Our client, a leading oil and gas company is looking forward to recruit Fire and Gas Supervisor

Purpose
To plan, implement and supervise preventive, corrective and troubleshooting maintenance activities related to Fire and Gas detection and protection instruments & system

Background
The Fire & Gas Supervisor reports to the Fire & Gas Engineer

The unit is responsible of maintenance and operability of wide range of Fire & Gas detection and protection systems, which include: Gas, Smoke, Heat and UV Detectors; VESDA detection systems; Deluge Water, Inergen, Argonite and CO2 protection systems.

The main challenges of the job holder are to maintain continuous healthiness state of all the Fire & Gas detection and protection systems despite their aging condition and limited availability of resources; to ensure the smooth integration of new projects F&G equipment with the existing system

Main Accountabilities
¿ To assist in the preparation of division/department Capital, Operating and 5 year Plan budgets and facilitate the effective monitoring and control of expenditures per approved budget
¿ To contribute to the development, implementation and regular review of the Fire & Gas Services policies, procedures and systems to ensure consistent & systematic application of best practices and to improve plan performance
¿ To assist Fire & Gas Engineer to plan, direct, coordinate and control all Maintenance activities for the Fire & Gas detection and protection equipments ensuring timely availability and reliability of system
¿ To generate periodic schedule plan, updating man-hours and equipment history in the MAXIMO work management system as per defined standards
¿ To prepare Job plans and carry our periodic Job plan review for any updates that include preventive maintenance, Functional checks so as to implement plant change requests as per direction from superior
¿ To prepare and obtain Permit to Work (PTW) based on the periodic Job Plans, allocate work and conduct Toolbox meetings to ensure understanding of the daily work tasks
¿ To supervise the first line troubleshooting, preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance of Fire & Gas systems belonging to plants in order to ensure effective functioning in accordance to HSE standards
¿ To assist in preparing procedures, method statements and carry out Risk Assessment exercises by reviewing, updating and maintaining drawings, Data Sheets and other relevant documents and also ensuring the availability of these documents in the respective areas and work shop
¿ To monitor stock and usage levels of non-stock items, standard tools, calibration equipment and all related Fire detection and protection material and raise purchase requisitions to facilitate timely replenishment of stocks
¿ To monitor and ensure the condition and adequacy of all require Fire & Gas testing equipments in accordance to Fire services policy and procedures
¿ To train and develop the assigned staff with emphasis to UAE Nationals
¿ To comply with Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS) and also promote awareness of its use among the staff
¿ To prepare periodical MIS and progress reports on sectional activity to keep top management informed about the progress of all initiatives and to facilitate decision making

Minimum Requirements
¿ Degree in instrument engineering, with at least 10 years¿ experience in the petrochemical industry covering F&G installation, maintenance execution and inspection/testing.
¿ Experience in troubleshooting and analyzing the root cause failure of FGS system
¿ Familiar with stand alone and integrated F&G system

Additional Requirements
¿ Exposure to turnaround and projects planning and application of quality management systems would be an advantage.
