Our client, a leading oil and gas company based in Abu Dhabi is looking forward to recruit Drilling Engineer (Completions/Wireline)


Job Purpose
Prepares detailed completion procedures for a well ahead of time. Supervises the completion equipment sub-assembly as per completion program and company instructions. Runs completion equipment on rigs in liaison with drilling engineering equipment section and operations team. Ensures running completion equipment and all related operations to be performed as per company safety standards and operating procedures. Ensures visual inspection and supervises timely, appropriate and correct preparation of completion sub-assemblies and dispatch equipment to rigs to meet operations requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

¿ Supervises equipment sub-assemblies. Ensures operations to be achieved safely cost effectively and in timely manner in line with drilling rig time schedule
¿ Coordinates sub-assembly operations including inspecting equipment prior to assembly, drifts all equipment and tubular used in completion string. Makes up sub-assemblies as per completion program. All torque data to be documented and recorded. Pressure-tests sub assemblies. Tests charts to be included in the final report which should be signed by Service Company and completion engineer upon completion of sub-assemblies job.
¿ Performs running completion equipment in drilling rigs as instructed and assigned company office including reviewing completion program, performs pipe tally on rig site and prepares completion equipment, runs single and dual completion, submits final completion report with detailed schematic. Insures that the final completion schematic is populated in WVA System existing in the Company.
¿ Prepares detailed completion procedures and contingency program. Generates material specifications and procurement scheduling for completion operations. Receives drilling programs for each rig/well in order to prepare required materials/equipments for making up sub assemblies and tests the same prior to shipment to rigs
¿ Attends WVA meetings to discuss sequence of operations and recommendations to improve completion service quality and performance
¿ Maintains necessary records for the Company related to drilling completion and wireline services
¿ Attends meetings and follows up with Service Company for any missing items or irregularities on assemblies. Investigates any failures and troubleshooting problems and takes corrective action measures as required
¿ Checks the sub-assemblies conditions and configurations to ensure correctness and that all tallies with the completion drawings are provided. Reports for any damaged items arranges for inspection and repairs as necessary
¿ Liaises with Service Company and wireline section to have technical advice related to wireline operations being carried out on rig
¿ Provides on-site consultation to the rig supervisors during implementation of completion and testing procedures
¿ Coordinates, follows up with action plans implementation. Coordinates well cleanup operations and subsequent testing to assure completion integrity prior to placing wells on production
¿ Develops the operating limits for each completion in conjunction with production and reservoir engineers
¿ Develops and implements quality control inspections and testing procedures for down hole equipment to be utilized in completion and testing operations as well as completion metrics to achieve high-quality and achieve cost effectiveness
¿ Provides technical expertise and leads the technical planning and implementation of completed engineering activities ensuring that wells are designed and completed in a safe, cost effective and environmentally acceptable manner. Provides functional guidance and to the tendering processes for the development well program
¿ Ensures that all corporate and JV policies /practices are adhered to. Adheres to the project timeline including coordinating peer reviews and post audit actions
¿ Designs and implements rig and coil tubing related remedial activities and work over whenever required

Communication & Organizational Relationships
¿ Daily contacts with well engineers, drilling engineering section leaders and reports to drilling engineering equipment section leader for all concerned requirements
¿ Frequent contact with personnel in Wire line section for any queries/clarifications

Minimum Requirements
¿ Bachelors degree in engineering (Petroleum/Mechanical/Petrochemical)
¿ 5-6 years experience in Drilling/Well completion and Services operations and Wire line operations. Has good computer skills
¿ Good knowledge of written and spoken English
