Our client, a leading oil and gas company, is looking forward to recruit Marine Advisor

Role and Scope
¿ Position will be multi functional and will involve close co-ordination and an effective working relationship with IGD Civil & Marine Team.
¿ Act as focal point on designated activities and projects within the team. Will actively seek to promote and ensure compliance of all project specific, marine and HSE procedures.
¿ Will Plan, direct and co-ordinate all the marine objectives related to IGD project. Provide advice based upon current company procedures and international best practices
¿ Carries-out inspections of intended marine units to be used within the project when required, and follow-up with contractors to ensure close out of identified observations.

Principal Accountability
¿ Represent as a Marine coordination focal point. Plan, directs and liaises with all marine projects in the vicinity of DAS Island. Coordinate between the Project vessels /barges and other vessels transiting or working in the area. Keep DAS PPA informed on daily basis of the operations progress and area of operations.
¿ Ensures site compliance with Procedures, Standing Instructions, Acceptance Standards and Project specific guidelines in particular to the implementation of agreed weather criteria and safe distances to shoreline and any subsea pipeline.
¿ Implements HSE policy by encouraging a safe HSE culture and submits BSA & HSE observations. Reports all unsafe Acts. Assists in the HSE audit of marine contractor where required.
¿ Responsible for the issue of daily Navigation Warning broadcasted on Radio Channels/FUGRO to all stations. They transmit on daily basis a progress report, including weather, number of crew on board the vessels and performance of all equipment and machinery.
¿ Participates and performs technical vessel, inspections to evaluate safety and operational standards in accordance with company inspection programme and assess the vessel for suitability as required by the PROJECT. Carry out spot-checks on board the vessel to physically verify post-inspection follow up actions. Contacts with contractors as required. Provides input or completes the compilation of the adopted company marine report for submission to the Management
¿ Assess contractor¿s marine staff in accordance with available standards to identify any gaps in their qualification, experience or performance which may jeopardize the integrity of the intended project. Make recommendations when required.
¿ Ensures compliance with company management of change procedures relating to project activities with special focus on operating procedures/standards.
¿ Actively participates in risk assessments to identify marine related risks and suggests control measures needed to reduce the risk to an acceptable level. Provides technical/practical Marine advice to Senior Marine Advisors, contractor¿s marine key personnel and Third parties.
¿ Conducts periodic audits to all Marine units to ensure compliance with Company minimum standard specification requirements. Participates as necessary in Marine related incident investigations.

Minimum Qualification
¿ Master Mariner Certificate of competency STCW 95 11/2 (Academic Standard of B.Sc. in Marine Services)
¿ Minimum 10 years experience post qualification in Marine Construction /oil and gas offshore projects, experience in a senior supervisory capacity of which 4 years in jack-up rig/barge move, survey, towage and anchor handling operations.
¿ Up to date with current maritime legislation and technological advances in vessels and equipment.
¿ Very good oral and written knowledge of English Language
¿ Knowledgeable of Arabic both verbal and written considered an advantage.
¿ Computer literate

Rotation Cycle
Leave cycle 35/28 (i.e. 35 days on Das Island followed by 28 days off)
