Job description

To coordinate the assigned project ensuring timely completion, within budget and meeting quality and HSE standards along with review and comments on project documents.

BACKGROUND
Project engineer reports to Office Engineering & Site Technical Projects Section Head under the Technical Services Department.
Participates in and coordinates all activities of Project from initial stage to completion including the work of licensors, PMC, Engineering consultants and contractors. Ensures close co-ordination with End-Users throughout the execution of the project up to the stage of Final Acceptance. The major challenge is to ensure the completion of the project on time while meeting the design intent, project specification, within budget and complying with HSE and Quality standards.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
¿ To function as a Technical Expert and Coordinator in the Management of project
which may have several natures (Mechanical, Electrical, and Control & Instrument).
¿ To participate and coordinate in the development of tender documentation for the
selection of the Engineering Consultant and Contractors.
¿ To provide professional expertise in the selection of contractors with particular
emphasis on pre-qualification, bid evaluation etc., and site management in
relation to site arrangements, overall logistics, etc.
¿ To participate, coordinate and assist in the development of detailed statement of
requirements (SOR) and strategy for implementation of various project phases,
such as, FEED, detailed engineering, construction and commissioning.
¿ To comment on contractor documentation. Ensure distribution of these documentation to all concerned parties for comments, received and consolidate comments and issue to contractor. In case of conflicting comments mediate and resolve these conflicts.
¿ To direct and supervise the activities of assigned specialist to the project during
engineering and construction phases.
¿ To coordinate and monitor the progress of work performed by licensors, engineering and EPC contractors. Identify any bottlenecks and recommend corrective action to ensure smooth and timely completion of each project.
¿ To ensure proper coordination between the Project Management Team (PMT),
end user and Engineer/contractor and other parties involved in the project to
ensure proper progress of the project.
¿ To ensure that contractors strategy, plans, specifications, methods and procedures for construction are in accordance with the scope of work, specification etc.
¿ To ensure that State of Art Technology is applied in the selection of equipment,
material, systems, work methods, testing etc.
¿ To ensure cost effective solutions and application of value added in the area of
construction strategy, plans, specifications, methods and procedure throughout
the assigned Project. In addition, certifying Contractors invoices and endorse
them for payment.
¿ To ensure safety of work methods, procedures and installation and review site
safety audit plans and lead the team for site safety audit implementation.
¿ To monitor and manage project completion punch list and ensure that all construction and commissioning activities are completed and accepted to allow release of PAC to contractors.
¿ To act as a focal point for alt TP projects those have different natures
{Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Instrument) in Ruwais, including provision of any required guidance and assistance.

Minimum Requirements
¿ At least Engineer in Mechanical discipline. Project Management accreditation is an additive advantage
¿ Minimum 05-06 years or relevant experience in Project Management
