This vacancy is for our client, Government Oil & Gas Company undertaking projects in oil & gas sector

PURPOSE

To schedule, co-ordinate, train and upgrade fire and rescue related trainings for ASAB division employees by testing and evaluating the fire fighting competency levels of initial intervention personnel, fire personnel and back up team members.

The Fire Training Officer reports to the Fire Services Section Head together with the Fire Officer.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

¿ To plan, develop, prepare, schedule and execute fire training programs, to suit ASAB plant requirements by participating in pro-incident planning assessment (PIPA) programs and mock drill preparations

¿ To identify the need for external fire training courses for ASAB employees as and when required for conducting training programs

¿ To assist in the preparation of Division/ Department Capital, Operating & 5 year plan budgets by providing feedback from the training needs aspect and facilitate adherence to budget in all training initiatives

¿ To ensure active participation at all plant emergency situations along with action personnel in order to support optimum protection of staff and divisional assets

¿ To direct the preparation of posters, charts, slides and other awareness aides to facilitate effective communication of tire protection tools and mechanisms across the division

¿ To coordinate with Fire Officer and Shift Supervisors to ensure effective maintenance of training equipment after each training session

¿ To ensure the availability of consumables required for the fire training on an annual basis (extinguishers, foam compounds, PPE¿s etc) by preparing and administering the annual budget of materials for fire trainings

¿ To keep abreast with the latest Fire training methodologies and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of section systems, processes and practices taking into account ¿international best practice¿, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement

¿ To comply with GASOO Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE MS) and also promote awareness of its use among all division personnel

¿ To contribute to the development, implementation and regular review of the Fire Services policies, procedures and systems to ensure consistent & systematic application of best practices and to improve plan performance

¿ To prepare periodical MIS and progress reports on Training activity to keep top management informed about the progress of all initiatives and to facilitate decision making

¿ To train and develop OAE Nationals to shoulder the responsibility of firefighting in order to achieve full Emiratization in the fire security section, with regard to the extremely difficult operating conditions encountered

Minimum Requirements:
¿ Minimum 5 years work experience as fire trainer in Industrial plant/factory
¿ English knowledge level: 6; Fit to work in hot weather
¿ UAE valid driving license is a plus Arabic language knowledge (is an advantage)
