To effectively lead and manage the Internal Audit Function to ensure it adds value to the Bank.

To effectively lead and manage the Internal Audit Function to ensure it adds value to the Bank.
Description
- Recommend revisions to the Ban auditing policies and risk management procedures
- Update the Internal Audit Charter and protocols to reflect any changes to the audit approach due to bank strategy or external professional developments.
- Prepare a comprehensive Risk Based Audit Plan, annually, covering all the functions and activities of the Bank, prioritizing the audit assignments based on risk assessment.
- Ensure that Audit approach responds dynamically to developments in the Ban Risk profile and strategy and to emerging risks.
- Deliver audit Plan as approved by BARC.
- Prepare internal audit Client plan, annually, including internal audit knowledge, skills, and competencies required.
- Perform half yearly and annual performance appraisal of entire staff and identify development and training needs.
- Ensure that internal auditors are properly managed, and perform audit/investigatory work properly as per plan.
- Approve final audit report(s) to be submitted to the Line for taking corrective action, if any. Communicate results to Executive Management and BARC.
- Review of user related procedures/policies for improvement.
- Provide input to finance dept. to coordination of internal & external audit efforts.
- Assurance provided over compliance to rules, regulations, instructions and laws issued by competent authorities.
- Maintain an up-to-date awareness of the latest techniques and professional audit standards locally.
- Communicate expertise and provide advice on governance and risk management functions and, internal controls.
- University graduate / FCA / FCPA /FCCA (Or other International Recognized accounting and auditing qualification).
- Minimum 12 Years auditing experience including 5 years in a managerial position in banking Internal Audit.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in all banking operations
