Job description

We have an urgent job opening in marine services for PLAN APPROVAL ENGINEER with one of our potential client which is a government company. This position is a long term contract hire.

The job location is UAE-Abu Dhabi (Musaffah)

Job description:

1. Approval and review of the drawings, technical document and
manuals for new building project and existing ship (alteration
and modification )
2. Design assessment as prescribed by the Classification Rules.
3. Proper assessment of vessels design and structure in
accordance with specified ships rules and standards.
4. Propose technical solutions into various aspects of design
matters.
5. Checks the information contained in the technical framework, if any;
6. Defines, if any, the remarks to be issued for the plan,
7. Produce accurate and concise technical reports.
8. Produce a document listing all technical
information/plans/manuals necessary in order to proceed
with the approval of the project.

Job specification:

1.University degree in Naval Architecture, mechanical and
electrical Engineering.
2.A thorough Practical and theoretical knowledge of hull,
machinery, materials, equipment and safety systems of ships.
3.A thorough knowledge and understanding of different
classification standards/rules for the approval of vessels plans
and drawings.
4.Has been working previously in Plan approval departments as a
plan approval engineer (Hull and stability, machinery or
electrical and automation).
5.Ability to read and interpret drawings.
6.High level of computer literacy, including networking, usage of
technical and marine software and data bases and archiving
systems.
7.High level of English literacy; written and spoken.
