This vacancy is with our client, undertaking projects in oil & gas sector.

PURPOSE:

To provide technical expertise and engineering support to all plants/sites , Pipeline , Technical and Major projects Divisions related to structural discipline , and to ensure the compliance with the standards, specifications and procedures in all projects , aiming to maintain the integrity, enhance the reliability and prolong the life of all civil facilities and installations
BACKGROUND
The Senior Structural Engineer reports to the Principal Civil Engineer with the Senior Civil Engineers.
The job-holder is responsible to ensure that a state-of-the-art technology is applied in the structural design and materials selection , and that the development of all engineering design work are at optimum levels, uniform, standardized and compatible . He shall ensure that a high-class engineering specifications, standards and procedures are implemented on all phases of Projects (Feasibility, Pre-FEED, FEED and EPC) and that the delivered facilities at site are safe, reliable and maintainable.
The job-holder is responsible to ensure that the technical studies are performed in highly professional manner and the output provides an efficient, technically sound, cost effective, and credible rectification method / recommendation.
The major challenge of job-holder is to keep abreast of latest technologies and development in the field of civil/structural engineering and construction to ensure effective/beneficial contribution to the project related works. Also due to the complexity of plants layouts as well as the difficulties of having shutdowns, it is a challenge to perform the technical studies related to the maintenance / modifications of existing civil / structural installations, considering the requirement of keeping the supported process facilities in operation and ensuring their safety / integrity during the works execution.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
¿ To participate in the development / updating of COMPANY Structural Engineering standards, specifications, procedures, systems to ensure its suitability to local condition, company policies , best practices, uniform application in all projects.
¿ To prepare in coordination with project owner/end user other entities as appropriate the definition of Civil Engineering statement of requirements and scope of work for studies, FEED of new projects.
¿ To review / check the Pre-FEED / Feed Documents and Design Packages prepared by the Consultants and Contractors , to ensure its compliance with the requirements of the scope of work , Company¿s specifications and international codes / standards .
¿ To review and approve the drawings, specifications, material submittals and other technical documents related to the projects.
¿ To review and approve the design change requests, concession requests, waiver to project specifications and to participate in the technical analysis of claims and variations impacting the costs or/and schedule.
¿ To provide technical expertise support and participate in projects activities related to development of the execution strategies, bids evaluation for various phases, the review of pre-qualification of Engineer/ Contractors/Vendors, preparation of bidders list, review of CV¿s of engineering staff of FEED/PMC/EPC Contractors, commissioning and hand-over of project facilities to End Users.
¿ To carry out the required in-house structural design and engineering works, including the structural analysis / modelling , structural steel design , preparation of design drawings, provision of technical / standard details , bill of quantities , etc..
¿ To coordinate , supervise and evaluate the technical studies and special investigations carried out by the third party consultants , including integrity / structural verification , condition assessment , fit for purpose calculations , vibration issues , structures strengthening , facilities / systems upgrading , etc. .
¿ To provide technical advice and expert support to the operation group , to ensure that the plants integrity and long term availability are maintained , areas of concern are identified / undertaken by the appropriate party and optimum and cost effective solutions are adopted .
¿ To assist the plants in the troubleshooting of maintenance problems related to civil/structural installations as well as participating in root causes analysis of any structure / installation failure .
¿ To render and offer comments to the Company Commercial Division on new vendors and sub-contractors qualification of registration.
Minimum Requirements:
¿ Bachelors in Civil/Structural engineering with 15 years of work experience.
¿ Minimum 10 years experience in structural design and analysis and 7 years in oil & gas industry.
