This vacancy is with our government client, undertaking projects in oil & gas sector:

Job Purpose and Scope:
The Knowledge Management and Best Practices Engineer create, maintain, and disseminate technical
and operational Best Practices and Lessons Learned through an established database. He/she is also
responsible for providing the required technical support to the team leader to measure the Drilling and service provider¿s performance.

Principal Accountabilities:
¿ Assists team lead in promoting drilling and completions knowledge management through
stewardship of knowledge network and benchmarking against industrys established Best
Practices
¿ Provides technical support to the team lead for analyzing Drilling performance trends.
¿ Leads the preparation and the execution of the "Review Stage" of the Well Delivery Process
¿ Leads the Non Productive Time (NPT) reviews with the service providers and captures technical
and operations follow up actions.
¿ Participates and contributes to all non-conformance incidents investigations
¿ Manages the development and maintenance of the Drilling Knowledge Management (KM) as part of KM system.
¿ Creates and maintains technical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for drilling and completion
services
¿ Creates, Maintains, and Disseminates Best Practices and Lessons Learned Operational and
Technical Bulletin (OTB) database
¿ Leads the implementation of Best Practices and Lessons Learned ay rig sites
¿ Mentor less experienced drilling engineers and rig supervisors
¿ Member of "Fast Drill Team" for implementation of ExxonMobil drilling technology
¿ Manages the knowledge Management-Information Management interface which includes, but is not limited to:
o Technical and operational practices worth replicating
o Processes, standards and guidelines
o Close-out Reports
o Training material
o Active networking
o Ideas generation
o Critical data transfer and storage
¿ Tracks and reports Drilling knowledge management and organizational effectiveness,
¿ Prepares any required monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual reports for Drilling Management.
¿ Prepares various performance related presentations for Drilling Management

Organizational Relationships {Work Contacts)
¿ Contact with other Drilling Sections and Groups (Teams), principally the Drilling and Completions Engineering and Operations Sections, on a daily basis to ensure application of Best Practices and Lessons Learned.
¿ Contact with Support Services when necessary.
¿ Contact with Service Companies when necessary


Independence of Operations and Decision-making Authority:
¿ Responsible for providing knowledge management support is provided in a timely manner.
¿ Decides priorities, bring in new ideas and technology and provide expertise in the function area to achieve required performance standards.

Minimum Requirements:
¿ Degree in relevant Engineering discipline such as Petroleum or Mechanical.
¿ Minimum five years experience and knowledge of drilling engineering functions.
¿ Minimum three years experience in offshore work related to drilling activities
¿ Computing skills including MS Office
¿ Knowledge of Drilling Information Management System
¿ Safety training
¿ Drilling Engineering School
¿ Skills including:
o Casing Design
o Basic Drilling Fluids Technology
o Basic Cementing Technology
o Pore Pressure and Fracture Gradient Technology
o Well Control
