Job description

This vacancy is with our client, Construction & Contracting Company undertaking projects in oil & gas sector.

Main Function:
Preparation of Project Drawings

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations:
¿ Provides technical advice for any change in structure to project team, consultants and contractors.
¿ Liaise with Government authorities for all approval of structural drawings
¿ Propose optimized design solutions to save time and project cost
¿ Carryout Structural analysis and do design verifications of BDC and Subcontract works
¿ Study and review the Contract Drawings
¿ Compares project specifications with site conditions to assess the feasibility of successful execution of the project.
¿ To ensure that all relevant technical information is available to the construction team at a zero defect level.
¿ Prepare Shop Drawings and its submittals
¿ Attends technical meetings with Subcontractors/consultants for project evaluation and technical advice.
¿ To raise technical queries where information conflict exists or is missing, and act on responses.
¿ Alternate proposals on Structural issues.
¿ Guide the Draughtsman and Document Controller in timely submission of drawings.
¿ Comment and revise the drawings prepared by Draughtsman
¿ Plan and communicate targets for drawing and design submission schedule.
¿ Attend all scheduled training and meetings.
¿ Carry out self performance evaluation.
¿ Identify and indicate skill shortcomings to Supervisors.
¿ Responsible to familiarize himself/herself with BDC Business Management Systems; Policies; Procedures; and execute own activities in accordance to BDC SHEQ Policy, as well as department rules.

Communication
Internal:
¿ Weekly meeting with Projects Manager to update about submittal progress (as requested)
¿ Weekly meeting with relevant project team to discuss and resolve project issues (as requested)
¿ Inter departmental meetings.
External:
¿ As Required Contacts with Consultants.
¿ As Required Contacts with suppliers and sub contractors.

Job Requirements
¿ Bachelor Degree in Structural/ Civil Engineering or equivalent.
¿ Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction field.
¿ Ideal candidate should have Knowledge in following areas:
? Latest construction trends and developments
? Project Management (familiar)
? Design Software (structural)
? AutoCAD
? Specifications
? Green building requirements
¿ Should have skills in following areas:
? Planning and Organizing
? Team Work
? Communication
