Job description

This vacancy is with our client, Government oil & gas company under the ADNOC group in Abu Dhabi

Scope of Duties:

¿ Performs qualitative and quantitative tests on gas, liquid and solid samples for the company and ADMA-OPCO using standards such as ASTM, IP, UOP, GPA and BP.

¿ Sampling and testing of all company and shipped products such as LNG, LPG (Propane and Butane), Pentane Plus, Sulfur, Crude Oil and Hydrocarbon Condensate.

¿ Sampling and testing the Process and the Utility plants and off-shore facilities (sour feed gas streams, Acid gas removal chemicals, store materials, water and condensates and solids samples such as deposit and sludge.

¿ Ensures that all work is carried out as per the company HSE policy with special emphasis on handling of Toxic and hazardous materials, use of appropriate PPE and segregation and disposal of laboratory chemical waste.

¿ Ensures analytical equipment accuracy by preparing standard reagents and performing calibration checks of all instruments on routine basis.

¿ Required to work after the normal working hours as per production and shipping requirements, It involves analysis requirements during plant emergencies, planned plant studies, plant overhauls and products analysis during ship loading.

¿ Performs several tests during Train overhaul. Performs mercury analysis, ammonia injection in boilers and analysis of solids (deposit, scale and sludge) from plant. Also, collects and tests several samples during the Train start-up procedure.

¿ Make calculations, prepares first copy of the daily analysis reports. Enters data daily into recording books and computers, highlights abnormal results to the Chemist/Chief Chemist.

¿ Ensures good housekeeping by cleaning his work area and all glassware used during analysis. Ensures that his workplace is well organized by orderly orientation of all laboratory material including data logging books and files as per the instructions of Chief Chemist.

¿ Provides training to product analyst (QC) trainees, with special emphasis on UAE nationals, by demonstrating and later coordinating the daily laboratory work.


Minimum Requirements:

¿ Technical Secondary High School Education (12 years) plus 2 years diploma in chemical analysis or equivalent.

¿ 5 years experience in analytical laboratory, preferably in an oil and gas industry.

¿ Good knowledge of written and spoken English, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

¿ Good knowledge of operating computers with MS Window applications.

Work Location: Offshore
Work/Leave cycle: 90/30 (i.e. 90 days on Das Island followed by 30 days `off¿)
¿ Messing and accommodation are provided free of charge while on the Island
¿ Excellent sports/recreational club facilities on the Island
