Job description

¿ Fully understands the principles and application of the Company Safety rule
¿ Must be aware of the safety system, fire and gas system and the various levels of the emergency shutdown system

Activities
¿ Looks after safety aspect as a priority
¿ Helps the laboratory technician
¿ Collects the samples (procedures for the gas, the water, the oil)
¿ Maintains housekeeping of the laboratory
¿ Helps in some oil, water and gas analyses
¿ Installs and removes some captors used for the analysis of the air quality
¿ Respects work permits recommendations and be sure the equipments are in safe condition for maintenance works in the laboratory
¿ Knows and follows the standing instructions and operating procedures
¿ Carries out daily, weekly and monthly routine jobs
¿ Checks all running laboratory equipment and reports abnormalities
¿ Changes over running equipment as and when required
¿ Handling, dispatching and receiving chemicals, cylinder

Context and Environment
¿ Works on daily basis (6am ¿ 6pm)
¿ Exposed to toxic gasses H2s, hazardous chemicals and noise pollution
¿ Requires a high level of mental alertness

¿ Comply with the activities described within the HSEMS
¿ Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts at work
¿ Know their responsibilities to environmental issues in their work areas
¿ Each employee, at his level of responsibility, must observe all Company Rules, Procedures and instructions in the performance of his own task

As such his duties and areas of authority are
Duties
¿ Following instructions given by managers and supervisory personnel
¿ Assuring himself of the safety of his work site before commencing work
¿ Taking the necessary measures to avert immediate threat of danger
¿ Exercising such caution as is necessary to avoid danger to persons and installations or to avoid pollution
¿ Using tools, equipment and their safeguards correctly
¿ Using the provided means of personal protection correctly
¿ Leaving the workplace behind correct and orderly upon job/shift completion
¿ Reporting any anomaly, abnormal conditions and near miss to his supervisor
¿ Participating actively in HSE Meetings, safety talks, tool boxes, training sessions and drills
¿ Cooperating actively in the execution of the HSE plans (First Aid and Advance Fire Fighting trainings required)

Authority
Suspending activities when there is a potential or actual threat to human life, the installation or the environment, and notify forthwith the responsible supervisor

Experience required
Experience in oil and gas
Good knowledge in English

Work Rotation Cycle
29 days on duty / 27 days off duty
