Job description

Prepares well programmes, Authorizations for Expenditures (AFE) and well instructions for drilling and work over wells based on the well data sheet. Issues amendments to cope with any changes during well program execution. Monitors the day-to-day operations, analyses problems and recommends solutions to Supervisor. Participates in the pre-Spud meetings on the Rig and presents the Well Instructions during the kick-off meetings. Evaluates well performance by utilizing specialized drilling software.

ORGANISA TIONAL RELA TIONSHIP/LA TITUDE:-
¿ Frequent contacts with Engineering and Petroleum Development Divisions personnel at equivalent level to plan drilling programs
¿ Frequent contacts with service contractors personnel at slightly higher level to discuss -work progression and ensure availability of equipment.
¿ Works according to established procedures and drilling engineering professional standards. Exercises
latitude -when preparing well programmes.
¿ Completed work is subject to review by Supervisor.
WORK PERFORMED:
Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Work Control:

¿ Receives copy of the daily drilling report and updates progress charts accordingly
¿ Ensures all directional data received from the rig is reflected in the Sysdrill System
¿ Monitors daily operations, analyses problems and recommends solutions to supervisor
¿ Supervises special jobs on site such as: lengthy acidising operations, new equipment trials...etc
¿ Prepares and issues the final well completion report reflecting actual achievements/duration compared to original programme

Well Instructions:

¿ Prepares drilling, work over and re-entry detailed instructions based on the approved well programme
¿ Coordinates with Mud and Cement Sections to obtain programmes for mud and cement
¿ Coordinates with Drilling Equipment personnel for the required materials/ equipment availability and allocation
¿ Incorporates hydraulic/torque and drag calculations based on the bottom hole assemblies (BHA) proposed by service companies and reviewed by Supervisor
¿ Presents approved -well instructions, during the kick-off meetings and highlights potential problems experienced in similar wells
¿ Participates in the pre-spud meeting on the rig when required.

Well Programme /AFE

¿ Receives prognoses (data sheet) from Petroleum Development Division through line supervisor
¿ Studies well location and trajectory, reservoir pressure, formation tops and logging requirement to establish the required work
¿ Establishes well profile in the Sysdrill system
¿ Defines the casing points to cover the problematic formations
¿ Prepares the orientation diagram for the rig move for Logistics Department
¿ Prepares Authorizations for Expenditure (AFE) and well programme for Management approval
¿ Evaluates well performance related to time such as operations time breakdown, weekly performance...etc. utilizing specialized drilling software and makes necessary recommendations for improvement.

Subsidiary Activities:
Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor such as: preparing AFEs estimations required for annual budget calculations based on rig bar chart, comparing performance of the nearby wells for better achievements, preparing incentive reports for entitled wells, assisting in the development of UAE National employees assigned to the Division... etc.


Minimum Requirements
¿ Bachelor Degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering
¿ 5 years experience in drilling, work over, well testing and completion work
¿ Good knowledge of English language
