Our client, a leading oil and gas company is looking forward to recruit Sr. Instrument and Control Engineer

Purpose
To provide expert technical engineering support to ensure and assume prime responsibility to maintain and continuously enhance the performance of DCS, Alarm Management and Real time information systems.

Main Accountabilities
¿ To compile/provide input for preparation of division/department Capital, EOM, MM and Operating budgets and monitor/ control expenditure against budget.
¿ To provide expert technical support and assume prime responsibility for maintaining the DCS system, including hardware and software.
¿ To coordinate with other divisions/departments and vendors for all ongoing projects.
¿ To identify new equipment and concepts for plant automation systems including DCS, Real time information systems, and other sub-systems.
¿ To develop and implement new application software modifications in DCS and Real Time information systems.
¿ To constantly review and evaluate the effectiveness of the DCS systems. Upgrade/modify the control systems to address the obsolescence, standardization and integrity issues
¿ To enforce the implementation of Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS) and also promote awareness of its use among all division and department personnel.
¿ To carry out root cause analysis and investigation into system problems and failures. To coordinate with Vendors and Other departments to identify `bad actors¿ and develop solutions to improve the system performance and reliability.
¿ To review the DCS hardware spares inventory and coordinate supply with the materials department.
¿ To monitor the Performance of Alarm Management System (AMS) and continuously update the plant model parameters.
¿ To ensure implementation of competency based Training & Development programs, through use of Personal Development Plans (PDP¿s) and UAE Nationalization directives.
¿ To Assist and provide technical support to users in all Process automation systems such as SCADA, ESD, Fire &Gas and all interface systems to the DCS.
¿ To act as a software custodian of all plant control and electrical systems, as well as continuously updating and maintaining backups of the system.

Main Challenges
¿ The major challenge for the jobholder is to work with the Vendors and Engineering Support Division to improve the system availability and reliability, by identifying the root causes for the failures and implement any design changes required.
¿ As the plant has variety of complex control systems, establishing the software library and the procedure to maintain system backups and implementing effective disaster recovery management procedures.

Minimum Requirements
¿ Should have more than 12 years experience with 3-4 years experience on ABB & DCS in the oil & gas industry experience on the interface protocols

Additional Requirements
¿ BSC certificate in electronics/telecommunications
